Originally a Scottish Highlands tool for stirring porridge, the Handmade Large Wooden Spurtle brings that slim design to the modern kitchen. Shaped from American black cherry by skilled artisans at a Pennsylvania workshop, each spurtle is 12" long and 2" wide, finished with food-grade mineral oil and ready for use.

One Tool, Every Task at the Stove

The slim profile moves through thick batters and risotto with less resistance than a broad spoon, reaching deep into the pot with ease. The flat tapered edge scrapes along the bottom of cookware cleanly and folds ingredients together without breaking them. It covers what a spoon does and what a spatula does, in a single tool.

The Wood Behind the Spurtle Turner

Each spurtle is carved from a single blank of Pennsylvania black cherry and hand-sanded at the workshop, the slim form requiring precise shaping from the blade through the handle. Every piece carries its own tone, the cherry grain running in fine lines through warm amber that deepens with use.
