Grey Terra Cotta Frog Vase

This grey terra cotta frog vase is finished in a charcoal wash over locally sourced terra cotta clay. Hand-formed by artisans in Honduras in small batches, each piece develops its own pattern of grey and exposed clay. At 4.25" wide and 2" tall, its low, rounded form holds loose stems in place without foam or tape.

From the Table to the Mantel

The terra cotta works beautifully with dried stems or faux flowers threaded through any opening. For fresh cuttings, set the vase on a low dish or tray before filling with water. Like all unglazed terra cotta, the clay breathes and will slowly seep moisture through its walls, so keeping something underneath protects the surface. Arrange stems through the openings once filled.

On a dining table laid with linen and ceramic plates, this frog vase holds a loose arrangement of branches and grasses with ease.

A Dark Vessel for Airy Stems

Against the deep charcoal clay, light-colored stems take on a different quality. The grey patina recedes, letting the arrangement lead. It sits easily on a console or mantel, layered among everyday objects, and pairs naturally with the grey patina planter tray.
