Steele Canvas was founded in 1921 on Hamilton Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts, sewing rugged canvas goods for the region's coal and textile industries. Now in its second generation under brothers John and Paul Lordan, the company still cuts and stitches every basket, tote, and truck to order in Massachusetts using many of the same methods it used a century ago. Each piece is made by skilled artisans who take pride in every stitch and seam, building goods that organize, carry, and endure across workshops and homes alike.
